How Do I Get A Copy of My Official UNM Transcript?

The UNM Office of the Registrar at http://www.unm.edu/~unmreg/ handles transcript requests.

You must either appear in person at the office or fax or mail your request. E-mail requests are NOT accepted, although a PDF-format request form to mail or fax in is available on the Office of the Registrar website.

 


How Do I Rent the Alumni Memorial Chapel?

UNM alumni, faculty, staff, and fulltime students, or the parents, children, or siblings of each of these, may schedule the Alumni Memorial Chapel for weddings, memorial services, and similar functions.

There is a fee for use of the chapel, payable at the time of your reservation.

How Do I Become a Career Mentor?

Alumni career mentors are a great source of information for UNM students interested in pursuing the mentors’ career field.

This is not a job-seeking service, but a directed, online form of communication between student and mentor.

How Do I Find a Career Mentor?

If you are a UNM student contemplating a career path, or an alum thinking of a career change, you’ll want to participate in our Career Mentor Program.

After registering for a mentor, we will send you the email addresses of alumni mentors in your field of interest.

You may ask questions and get the benefit of your mentors’ experiences.

How Do I Get a Rec Card / Use Johnson Gym?

Johnson Center Rec Card
Details about getting a Rec Card are provided in the Alumni Benefits section.

The athletic facilities of Johnson Center are available to UNM Alumni during recreation hours for a reduced monthly fee.

In order to do so, you must call the Alumni Relations Office at 505.277.5808 or visit the office in Hodgin Hall to be certified as a UNM alum.

We will then e-mail a letter of authorization to Johnson Center.

You will need to pay your fee at the Johnson Center Cashier. The authorization is good for six months.

How Do I Use the University Libraries?

UNM University Libraries - Alumni Privileges
Alumni may acquire a UNM University Libraries card for $25 a year, $10 off the regular fee.

In order to do so, you must call the Alumni Relations Office at 505.277.5808 to be certified as a UNM alum.

We will then fax a letter of authorization to the Circulation Desk at Zimmerman library.

You will need to show a photo ID and pay your fee at Zimmerman Library.

The library card is valid at the Centennial Science and Engineering Library, the Fine Arts Library, The Parish Memorial Library, and Zimmerman Library.

How Do I Buy UNM Alumni Stuff?

The Alumni Association has joined with the UNM Bookstore for a whole new line of alumni gifts.

Go to http://www.unmalumni.com/alumnistore or click on the UNM Apparel and Gifts link throughout our website.

The Alumni Association receives a percentage of the cost of your purchase, which goes directly to our programs.

How Do I Get a UNM License Plate?

The UNM license plate for cars registered in New Mexico features the Lobo mascot and the letters "UNM" within the plate number.

The plates are available at any MVD office. Outside of Albuquerque, however, only a few offices carry the plates, although all offices can order a plate from the warehouse.

The plate costs $35 annually in addition to your normal car registration fee.

How Do I Get an Alumni Credit Card?

UNM Alumni Association Credit Card

MBNA offers the UNM Alumni Association credit card. Rates are great, and with each purchase, you help the association build its endowment.

How Do I Get Insurance?

The UNM Alumni Association offers many different types of group insurance policies:

Because these are group policies, the premiums are generally far lower than they would be for individuals.

How Do I Get Involved?

First, let us know you’re interested! Call our office at 505.277.5808 or e-mail us at alumni@unm.edu. There are myriad ways to get involved.

If you live in town, the opportunities are probably greatest because you might like to serve on project committees, helping with homecoming, legislative or student recruitment events.

If you live out of town, you should get in touch with one of our 18 chapters. They will be happy to welcome you and put you to work, primarily on social events but also at local college fairs.

Regardless of where you live, you may become an online career mentor. New graduates and students about to enter a career are eager to learn about your experiences in your work field.

UNM Alumni Association

The University of New Mexico Alumni Association serves its members from the oldest building on campus, Hodgin Hall.

The Association and its professional staff in the Alumni Relations Office coordinates activities designed to inform and involve UNM’s 143,000 alumni in every state and 89 foreign countries.

The Association participates in policy and decision making, student support programs, government relations, student recruitment, career placement and planning, administrator search committees, faculty support, and continuing education programs.

The Association works to ensure college memories are kept alive alongside important plans for the future.

Success of the Alumni Association depends on the interest and commitment of all UNM alumni.

The wide variety of activities, programs, committees and chapters offer something for everyone.
