Award Recipients!



The University of New Mexico Alumni Association gives a number of awards to individuals in recognition of outstanding accomplishments.

The University of New Mexico Alumni Association Board of Directors honored four individuals in February 2005.


Jerry T. Jackson (’64 BAED) Former Executive Vice President of Merck & Co., Inc., a major pharmaceutical company

The James F. Zimmerman Award is given to an alumnus of UNM who made a significant contribution which brought fame and honor to UNM or the State
of New Mexico.


Arthur Melendres (’65 BA, ’71 JD) Attorney with Modrall, Sperling, Roehl, Harris & Sisk, P.A., former UNM Regent, 1991-1996

The Bernard S. Rodey Award is given to someone who has devoted an unusual amount of time in a leadership capacity and has contributed significantly to the field of education.

 


Jerry Atkinson (’67 BABA) Retired Senior Director/Owner of Atkinson & Co, Certified Public Accountants, and former UNM Alumni Association President 1985-1986

The Erna S. Fergusson Award is given to someone for exceptional accomplishment or distinguished service to the University.

 

 

 


Tey Diana Rebolledo Chairperson of the UNM Spanish and Portuguese department since 1995, Associate UNM Professor of Spanish, 1984-1995, Director of UNM Women’s Studies Program, 1984-1988

UNM Alumni Association Faculty Teaching Award recognizes outstanding teaching and service to students.
