The D. H. Lawrence Ranch is a UNM owned facility that is available for use by UNM faculty, graduate students, staff, and alumni.
These groups are eligible to rent cabins at this ranch near Taos.
Graduates of UNM will be verified through the Alumni Relations Office.
Single Cabin (smallest): $20.00/night
A single cabin accommodates up to four people. It has a combination kitchen/dining
area with a table and chairs; two small bedrooms, one with bunk beds and one
with a double bed; one bathroom; and one space heater.
Double Cabin (middle): $29.00/night
A double cabin accommodates up to six people. It has a combination kitchen/dining
area with a table and chairs; three small bedrooms, two with double beds and
one with a set of twin beds; two bathrooms; a living room with sofa, day bed
and chairs; and two space heaters.
Santo Domingo: $34.00/night
The Santo Domingo is a refurbished cabin with a sunroom in conjunction with
the living room. It accommodates up to six people. It has a combination kitchen/dining
area with a table and chairs; three small bedrooms, two with double beds and
one with a set of twin beds; a living room; one bathroom; and two space heaters.
San Lorenzo: $34.00/night
The San Lorenzo is the largest cabin and accommodates up to eight people.
It has a combination kitchen/dining area with a table and chairs; four small
bedrooms, three with double beds and one with a set of bunk beds; two bathrooms;
a living room with a sofa, and day bed (which sleeps one) and chairs; and
two space heaters.
| Notice: Sometimes the water supply at the ranch is diminished during periods of drought or minimal precipitation. We ask you to conserve the use of water during your stay at the ranch. Showers are not available during the winter period and at times may not be available during other periods. |
Reservations can be made by phone to the UNM Physical Plant Dept. at 505.277.2421, but they must be confirmed in person within five days.
Payment must be received no less than 48 hours prior to the first day of the reservation.
The rental office is located in the Service Building (#204) at 1818 Camino del Servicio.
Rental hours are from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
Cancellations must be made 48 hours (two working days) prior to the first day of the reservations.
Renters are required to present a picture ID at the time the reservation is made.
Graduate students are asked to present a student ID and eligibility is verified with the Graduate School.
