The University of New Mexico's Alumni Memorial Chapel is available by reservation to the UNM community for weddings, vow renewals and memorial services.
Because the UNM Alumni Memorial Chapel is not staffed and regular services are not held there, it is available by reservation ONLY.

The use of the UNM Alumni Memorial Chapel is a benefit granted to full-time students (those currently taking at least 12 credit hours in a degree-granting program), a graduate of the University, and faculty and staff of UNM. As a courtesy, this privilege is extended to children, parents, and siblings of the above. UNM records will be checked to verify eligibility. |
In order to reserve the UNM Alumni Memorial Chapel, you must complete complete and submit the Event Reservation Application and Usage Agreement. The UNM Alumni Memorial Chapel is booked on a first come, first served basis and is heavily used. If a specific day of the week is important to you, your best chance of securing it is to reserve early.

For a two-hour block of time, the fees are as follows:
Any additional time, including rehearsal time, is $75.00 per hour.
UNM Alumni Relations reserves the right to cancel events at any time and in emergencies. If you need to reschedule your ceremony, we will be happy to help you find another time slot. |
Please consider very carefully amount of time you will need for your event/ceremony from beginning to end when you make your reservation. Include setup time, photography, arrival of guests, etc., before the ceremony, the ceremony itself, and egress of guests from the chapel, receiving line, photography, take-down, etc., after the ceremony. By evaluating all the elements involved, you can more accurately estimate the amount of time necessary to meet all your needs. YOU MAY NOT ENTER YOU MUST LEAVE AT THE END OF YOUR RESERVED TIME! If the planned duration of your ceremony is longer than the standard two hour block of time, as noted in the Rental Fees section, the $50.00 per hour fee for additional time is added to the total cost. Because ceremonies are often scheduled one right after the other, all delays significantly impact subsequent ceremonies. The chapel is cleaned between ceremonies, so please do not go over your scheduled time limit. A staff person is present to open the chapel for you at the start of your reservation time slot and close the chapel at the end of your reservation time slot. The staff attendant also ensures that the usage policies are adhered too. |
