Strategic Goals and Objectives

Strengthen & Support the School of Engineering

Provide support (financial and non-) to SOE students & projects
Provide support to the departments within the SOE
Establish mentoring and other student help programs

Raise the profile of engineering in the community

Create an active speakers bureau
Provide information to high schools, vocational and community colleges
Help encourage students to aspire to engineering

Encourage networking for professional, career & business development

Conduct SOE alumni survey and provide results to key groups
Identify areas where SOE/Alumni/Companies can benefit one another
Work closely with the SOE and UNM Alumni Association

Provide opportunities for students, faculty and alumni to interact

Help sponsor Distinguished Engineer Awards Banquet
Sponsor an engineering golf tournament & other social events
Sponsor & participate in football tailgate parties
Help with engineering student orientations & receptions

Build the Organization

Create a dynamic Chapter that can respond to alumni, SOE & student needs
Encourage all SOE students & alumni to become active, supporting members
Establish & foster a vibrant, productive volunteer force of members
Keep members informed of Chapter and SOE major accomplishments
Recognize outstanding UNM engineering alumni
