Giving to the Alumni Association
We Value Your Participation! In communities everywhere, UNM alumni are making our world a better place. By supporting UNM students, you're supporting their future – and yours – as alumni! Your generosity creates new opportunities for our students to succeed. Alumni participation in giving is considered a key indicator of a university's success, and is factored into national ratings. Every gift, regardless of the amount, makes an impact, and is greatly appreciated!
Every Gift Is Greatly Appreciated!

Thank You For Your Time!
Volunteering, the gift of your time . . . Join UNM alumni who give thousands of hours to serve our university students and community by volunteering. There's no cost, other than your time; the reward is that you help make our community stronger and you make your UNM degree more meaningful.
Volunteer roles can vary from mentoring students to serving on a governing board to helping organize Alumni Association events and even serving hotdogs! There is something for every interest and Alumni volunteers get the satisfaction of giving back to the University while networking with fellow alumni.
Popular Volunteer Options:
- Sign up to be an online mentor for current students and new graduates.
- Get involved with your local alumni chapter by recruiting students to UNM and celebrating and cheering with other lobos.
- Young Alumni participate in university and community service activities throughout the year. If you have graduated in the last 10 years, check out our plans for volunteering.
- Join the Lobo Advocacy program and help UNM with the Legislature.
- Host or attend a Dinner for 12 Strangers and celebrate UNM’s birthday. This program builds and strengthens the UNM community by creating an informal environment for UNM alums to make connections with students and faculty. Contact the Alumni office in December to be a part of these dinners.
- Homecoming brings many opportunities for involvement: contributing to the Silent Auction, planning and participating in a reunion, judging the decorating contest and many more! Contact us in the summer to plan your involvement.
- Nominate alumni for an award, a committee appointment or an appointment to the UNM Alumni Association Board of Directors.

Be a Part of Alumni History
Once a red brick schoolhouse in the middle of nowhere, now a pueblo-style showpiece of the University of New Mexico, Hodgin Hall holds the memories of more than 174,000 UNM alumni. The Hodgin Hall Brick Brigade began in 1992, commemorating Hodgin Hall's 100th anniversary.
The Hodgin Hall Brick Brigade provides an opportunity to commemorate your own or a loved one's days at UNM with a personalized brick laid in a handsome walkway leading to Hodgin's main entrance. Your brick purchase will endow the future for Hodgin Hall and the UNM Alumni Association. Funds raised will assure Hodgin Hall's maintenance and renovation while supporting the efforts of the UNM Alumni Association.
For more information on the Brick Brigade, visit www.unmalumni.com/brick or contact Kara Evans at (505) 277-6040 or kevans01@unm.edu.
The Chapel Garden and Celebration Wall:
Simple Elegance, Cherished Memories
The Chapel is a historically significant part of the University of New Mexico community and has served all faiths in both joyful and trying times for celebration and reflection. In keeping with the Chapel’s Franciscan Mission architecture, the design for the Chapel Garden extends the spiritual space within the Chapel to the surrounding outside area. The Garden’s comprehensive design plan includes provisions for a rose garden, gathering space, seating, shade, a fountain and lighting.
The centerpiece of the Garden will be the Celebration Wall, adorned with tiles of photographs of alumni, students, faculty, staff, and friends. The Celebration Wall will serve the university community’s spirit and provide a historic record of the many celebrations, memorials, and important events held at the Chapel.
Support the Chapel Endowment Fund through the Chapel Garden and Celebration Wall. For more information visit www.unmalumni.com/chapel-garden or contact us at (505) 277-5808 or alumni@unm.edu.
How Can I Get Involved?
Tell people in the community you are a UNM alum. Wherever you are active, let them know you are a UNM grad. Wear that UNM lapel pin, hang your diploma, or show your Lobo colors on those casual Fridays. Be a part of our community!
