Homecoming 2014

UNM Alumni Association launches
its annual Homecoming Community Service Project

The UNM Alumni Association will collect items at several locations across campus beginning Monday, September 22 through Friday, September 26, 2014.

For the 5th year in a row, the UNM Alumni Association will collect items to support the Ronald McDonald House Charities New Mexico (RMHC-NM) as part of its Homecoming Community Service Project. RMHC-NM RMHC-NM provides comfort, care and a home away from home for families whose children are in medical treatment. They service over 70 family members each month in their Albuquerque location. This year RMHC-NM has asked that we collect disposable paper or Styrofoam bowls.

Also this year, with many Albuquerque Public Schools’ families in need of assistance, the UNM Alumni Association will gather much-needed donations benefiting the APS Title I Homeless Project. With nearly 7,000 homeless children and youth in the Albuquerque area, these donations make a tremendous difference in these students’ lives. Donations should include travel-size toiletries such as shampoo, conditioner, hair brushes, soap, lotion, deodorant, toothbrushes and toothpaste.

Those attending the UNM Alumni Association’s Faculty/Staff Alumni Luncheon, the Staff and Faculty Picnic, or the UNM Children’s Campus Drop-Off who donate an item will receive a special 125 UNM Homecoming pin! For additional information contact Florencio Olguin at folguin@unm.edu.
