UNM Traditions—Hanging of the
Greens
The traditional "Hanging of the Greens"
will open the holiday season this year on Friday, December 5. Free and
open to all, the festive event begins at 5 p.m. with a reception at University
House hosted by President and Mrs. Louis Caldera. At 6 p.m., at the UNM
Alumni Chapel, faculty, staff, students, their families and the community
are invited to join carolers to tour the luminaria lit campus - winding
back to University House by 7 p.m. where students will present the Calderas
with a wreath near the entryway.
President Caldera's First 100
Days
After President Caldera's
first 100 days on the job, he states that he has a vision for the University
and it starts with excellence in academics. Also, a new honor from Hispanic
Business.
Holiday Crafts Fair at SUB Features
UNM Alum Artists
Get your holiday shopping done early with hand-made
arts and treasures at the Holiday Crafts Fair on December 2-4 from 9am-6pm.
Over 70 artists from New Mexico and the Southwest will come together in
the SUB Ballroom to display their diverse, original, hand-made crafts!
Lobos for Legislation—Get Involved
Lobos for Legislation is your grassroots legislative
advocacy network of Alums concerned with the future of higher education
at UNM.
UNM Foundation Annual Fund Drive
Where does the money go? The University uses
the generous contributions it receives to the Annual Fund to enhance UNM
programs and projects for the benefit of its students.
Learning for Life—One-Day Workshops
for Busy Professionals
You can fit professional development
into your hectic schedule. UNM's Continuing Education offers a range of
one-day workshops on practical business topics for busy people like you.

Winter graduation takes place the evening
of Friday, December 19. Approximately 1,200 students will shift
their tassels at the ceremony in the Pit and be recognized as graduates
and alumni of the University of New Mexico. |
