Jodi Ewart
2009-2010 UNM Female Athlete of the Year
Jodi Ewart is the most successful golfer in UNM history. Hailing from Middleham, England, Jodi started her career at UNM with the 2007 MWC title. She also earned MWC co-player of the year and freshman of the year. Jodi then made All American honors (13th in Lobo history) and lowered the UNM freshman scoring record to an average 73.35, on her way to 50th at the NCAA Championships. This is just her freshman year!
Four years on and into 2010 Jodi never stopped. She captured All-American honors three times in her career, accumulated six top-10 finishes over the season, produced a New Mexico record of 208 points for 54 holes at the Championship Golf Course in Albuquerque and guided the Lobos to the MWC Championship team crown. She claimed her fourth MWC individual title by being named MWC Player of Year. She is the first UNM student athlete to earn the honor that many times and is the first student athlete in any MWC sport to receive four consecutive Player of the Year honors.
Jodi placed 15th at the 2010 NCAA Championships, earning her First Team All-American honors. This – along with her sixth place performance at the Futures Tour – gained her full exemption to the Futures Tour series, allowing her to play professional golf. Currently, Jodi is successfully touring and playing in professional tournaments all over Europe.
