Faculty Teaching Award
The UNM Alumni Association Faculty Teaching Award recognizes outstanding teaching and service to students. The recipient is a faculty member currently employed full-time in any school or college of the University.

2009 Recipient: Susan B. Tiano
Susan B. Tiano is director of the UNM Latin American and Iberian Institute and a professor of sociology. Her work focuses on gender and development, with a particular emphasis on the impacts of capitalism, economic restructuring, and globalization on women’s lives and gender roles and identities. Susan spent two decades doing research on women maquiladora workers in Mexico, about which she published her book, Patriarchy on the Line.
