Chicago Chapter: Architecture River Cruise
You're invited to join members of the UNM Alumni Chicago Chapter for a Chicago Architecture River Cruise! Be inspired by the captivating, visual art that is Chicago's legendary architecture, and the exceptional architects who created this ever-changing, dynamic legacy for all to enjoy and admire. Experience the “top tour in Chicago and one of the top ten tours in the U.S.” according to TripAdvisor users. CAF-certified volunteer tour guides interpret more than 50 buildings along the Chicago River. Location and Parking:
Location: Chicago's First Lady Cruises Dock, 112 E. Wacker Dr., Chicago, IL 60601; 847-358-1330
Parking: Discounted parking is available at 233 N. Michigan Ave. (Illinois Center) for up to four hours. The parking garage entrance is the first driveway east of Michigan Ave. on the north side of E. South Water St. This garage is a 1.5 block walk from Chicago's First Lady boat dock. Make a self parking reservation online. Please note that you must have your parking ticket stamped at Chicago's First Lady ticket window to receive the discounted rate. Because parking is based on availability, consider arriving early. The parking garage may not be able to accommodate large vans or trucks, so please plan accordingly.
IS THE CAF RIVER CRUISE WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE? No, the boat tour is not ADA accessible. None of our boats are able to accommodate motorized scooters.
However, we do offer early boarding for our passengers with limited mobility. We can provide standard wheelchairs for passengers who need them and make accommodations for those with other disabilities. Upon arrival at Chicago’s First Lady boat dock, speak to any uniformed employee to request assistance.
Although it's not required, we recommend that a caregiver accompany a guest with mobility restrictions to facilitate movement during the cruise and to assist in the unlikely case of an emergency.
ACCESSING THE DOCK FOR GUESTS WITH LIMITED MOBILITY: By Car: Chicago’s First Lady has a dock-level, drop off-only area on lower Lower Wacker Drive, adjacent to the Chicago River. The closest parking facility for this area is located up one level at the Hyatt Regency Hotel at Lower Wacker Drive and Lower Stetson Street (discounted parking is not available at this location). For discounted parking options, see above.
