Lobo Living Room: Caring for UNM and the Community

RSVP here

This Lobo Living Room, Caring for UNM and the Community, will feature discussions with Dr. Stephanie McIver, Counseling Director at UNM Student Health and Counseling, and Dr. Miquela Rivera, a Licensed Psychologist providing grief services at French Funerals and Cremations.

Dr. McIver, who holds a PhD in Adult Clinical Psychology from The Ohio State University, will discuss initiatives at UNM that have been put in place to help UNM students, staff and faculty during the pandemic. Many students have been dealing with isolation, anxiety and other mental health issues, and SHAC was here to assist.

Dr. Rivera is a private practitioner providing therapy and assessments with adults, and grief counseling through French Funerals and Cremations. She will talk about how to deal with coping with the holidays, looking back on traditions and creating new ones, setting appropriate expectations (including touching on the financial expectations related to the holidays), how to minimize upsets, and coping with loss and loneliness.

RSVP today and watch your inbox for a confirmation email with the Zoom meeting details, including a password to enter the discussion
