In accordance with University policy, all private gifts are received through the UNM Foundation, which manages contributions to all University programs.

UNM Cherry and Silver Society

UNM's Cherry and Silver Society was created by the UNM Foundation in order to recognize alumni who have given to UNM every year following graduation.

Join UNM alumni who give thousands of hours to serve our university and community by volunteering.

Naming Opportunities:

We offer several named-giving opportunities that provide a way for you to leave your own legacy as a UNM Alum or to make a tribute or memorial gift in honor of someone special.

Dr. Karen Abraham Courtyard Fund:

Gifts made to this fund will be used for the renovation of the landscaped courtyard just east of Hodgin Hall, in honor of Dr. Karen Abraham’s 45 years of dedication and service to The University of New Mexico. All donations made to this project will be matched by the UNM Alumni Association with a goal of $50,000 raised from alumni and friends. More . . .

Hodgin Hall Alumni Center:

Give to the Hodgin Hall Restoration Fund for continued sustainability for the University's first building. We have naming opportunities for rooms in Hodgin Hall, and for steps and floorboard plaques in Hodgin Hall. Naming on the stair risers or baseboards are available for $5,000 each.

Alumni Memorial Chapel Garden:

The Chapel Garden's new, comprehensive design includes a fountain, rose garden, benches and trees. Commemorate an individual, group or special occasion at the Chapel by supporting the Patron's Wall $1,000 or the Alumni Memorial Chapel Celebration Wall $300.

The Chapel Celebration Wall:

The centerpiece of the Alumni Memorial Chapel is the Celebration wall adorned with commemorative tiles. The Celebration Wall provides a historic record of the many celebrations, memorials, and important events held at the Chapel. Support the Celebration Wall with a commemorative tile for $300.

The U:

Along with the installation of a cast-bronze U, the Alumni Association also renovated the plaza in front of Hodgin Hall's main entrance with landscaping, pavement, and signage identifying Hodgin Hall as the Alumni Center of UNM. Donors can name the Lobo Rose Garden $5,000, Granite Pavers $2,500, Karen Abraham Courtyard Recognition Plaque $500, or Primary Donor Plaque $25,000.

Brick Brigade:

Commemorate your own or a loved one with a personalized brick placed in the walkway leading to Hodgin Hall's front door. Your brick purchase will endow the future for Hodgin Hall and the UNM Alumni Association. Funds raised will assure Hodgin Hall Alumni Center's maintenance and renovation while supporting the efforts of the UNM Alumni Association.

Give to UNM Alumni Association Endowments

Willia T. Zimmerman Alumni Memorial Chapel Endowment Fund:

This fund ensures the sustainability of the Alumni Memorial Chapel for future generations by providing for renovations and upkeep to the building and its pipe organ. Nancy C. Doolittle, who, with her siblings and cousins, established the fund in memory of Willia (their grandmother) and Elizabeth Z. Cottle and Helen Emily Z. Brandenburg (their mothers). Their grandfather, James Fulton Zimmerman, was UNM president from 1927 to 1944. In 1961, Elizabeth and Helen had helped raise money for the chapel's first organ, which was dedicated to Willia. Donors who contribute $1,000 or more will be recognized on the Patron's Wall in the Chapel.

Give to Hodgin Hall Alumni Center Restoration Endowment for continued sustainability of the university's first building.

UNM Alumni Association Endowment:

Support alumni programs through a gift directly to the UNM Alumni Association Endowment.

Scholarship Endowments:

You may start a new scholarship endowment under the Alumni Association. Those who endow a full scholarship ($25,000) are given the opportunity to personalize it, and design the award qualifications. Individuals and organizations with endowments under the Alumni Association include:

Thanks to gifts from alumni, friends, and chapters, the UNM Alumni Association assists top level UNM students with their academic expenses. Through the UNM Alumni Association Scholarship Program, hundreds of scholarships have been given to both graduate and undergraduate degree-seeking students over the years.
