Our Alumni Online Community

Access to UNM Alumni Connect is easy! Membership is exclusive to alumni only — it's completely free to you! All you need to do is establish a User ID and password and login.

Being a part of this community allows Lobo alums to:

  • Find and connect with alumni near you
  • Submit Class Notes: Update your career successes and info you would like to share
  • Update Privacy Settings: Control your privacy and email settings
  • Stay in touch: Keep your contact information up-to-date allowing you to receive information about Homecoming events, regional Green Chile Roasts, UNM department or program news, game watch parties and more #ProudUNMAlumni moments

How do I sign up for UNM Alumni Connect?

If you are already registered, log in with your username and password. If you have not yet registered, you will need to know your Alumni ID number to complete the registration process. We ask that our alums provide their Alumni ID number, and not other personal identifying information, for security purposes because your data is important to us! If you do not know your Alumni ID number, please complete the Alumni ID Request Form and our office will contact you within 72 hours with your Alumni ID number.

First-time login and Alumni ID Numbers

Q:

A: We ask that our alums provide their Alumni ID number, and not other personal identifying information, for security purposes because your data is important to us! Read our Data Policy.

A: You can find your Alumni ID number on the back cover of your Mirage Magazine, in the January Howler, or on Mini Diplomas created after June 2017. If you cannot find your Alumni ID number, please complete the Alumni ID Request Form and our office will contact you within 72 hours of your request.

Q:

A: As a graduate of UNM, you automatically receive access to the online alumni directory. You will need to follow the first-time registration process in order to access UNM Alumni Connect.

  1. Use your first and last name to look up your account.
  2. Select your account. If you cannot find your name on the list, try searching again using alternate names, such as your legal name or a previous/maiden name, or email us at alumni@unm.edu or call 505-277-5808 for assistance.
  3. Verify your identity by entering your Alumni ID Number.
  4. Create your username and password. Read and agree to the policy of use and your registration is complete! Once you've created your username and password, you'll be able to submit Class Notes, edit your profile information and search the Alumni Directory.

A: Follow the password reset link to change your password.

A: You can reset your password using your preferred UNM email address. If you have forgotten the email address associated with your account, contact us for assistance.

Permanent Email

Q:

  1. After you sign-up for your @unmalumni.com email account, watch for a "Welcome" email notifying you of your new webmail account. This email will include your @unmalumni.com username and temporary password.
  2. Login at https://mail.google.com.
  3. Your login will be your complete email address "you"@unmalumni.com and your password.
  4. Use the temporary password that was sent to you in your notification email. Your welcome email will be sent to your preferred email address that we have on file. If your preferred email address is an @unmalumni.com email address, the welcome email will also be sent to your forwarding address that we have on file.

Q:

A: Yes! If you would like to use @unmalumni.com only for email forwarding, after logging in at https://mail.google.com, click the cog wheel button in the top right-hand corner and then "Settings". After the settings page appears, select the "Forwarding and POP/IMAP" tab and follow the instructions.

Contact Information

A: Log in to your account via the link at the top of this page, then visit your personal profile page. You can update your email address — or any contact information — by selecting "edit" within the corresponding section of your profile.

You can also send any new contact information through our online form and we will update our database for you.

You must login to the UNM Alumni Connect Online Community to update your email preferences to indicate the messages that you want to receive from The University of New Mexico. You can change your preferences in the Email Subscription Management section of your Personal Profile.

A: You can search for them in the Online Directory. Login is required.

You can search for alumni by name and class year. You can also use the Advanced Search to access a broader range of search categories, including city, state, country and degree.

Q:

A: Email alumni@unm.edu with any information on members of the UNM community.

Email Communication and Privacy Settings:

We'd like to keep you informed of the latest news and events. You must login to the Online Community to update your email preferences to indicate the messages that you want to receive from The University of New Mexico.

You can opt-in or opt-out of the following email communications:

  • The Howler, UNM Alumni Newsletter (Monthly)
  • Giving Opportunities
  • News from my College or Department

Some departments or offices may maintain their own e-mail lists and so you may still receive e-mail from those areas and you would need to contact that department or office directly if you wish to Opt Out.
