Regional Chapters . . . Everyone's a Lobo!
Regional Chapters always welcome new volunteers and participants in their activities.
Regional Chapters can be found in the more highly populated cities and states around the country. They provide social, service, giving and sports-related activities for alumni and friends in their chapter areas. We encourage you to check out the many opportunities to get involved. Attend an event or two . . . or give the chapter leader in your area a call to find out other ways you can participate or get involved!
Regional Chapter Information
The Atlanta Chapter of the Alumni Association is an active group with a varied offering of programs, from Lobo Day Pot Luck events in the spring to chile roasting gatherings in the fall. In addition, our strong student recruitment program highlights UNM to Atlanta area high school students.
New York Chapter
The New York Area Chapter covers a wide area, including New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. We hold events and activities as far away as Atlantic City, and as close as Manhattan. Our activities range from green chile events to Lobo Game Watch get-togethers; and from museum exhibitions to student recruitment. We hope our future activities will help add to the endowment which funds New York Chapter Scholarships (opens in new window) for area students.

Washington, D.C. Chapter
The Washington, DC Chapter has been active since before there was a Chapter. Our annual Taco Picnic has been a fixture in the DC area for over 40 years. It was combined with the Green Chile Roast to become the place to be in DC in early September. In addition we host an Annual Lobo Day event in the spring featuring a UNM guest speaker. We started the DC Chapter Endowed Scholarship a number of years ago thanks to a 'match' from the Alumni Association. Thanks to the success of our Green Chile Roast and Taco Picnic it continues to grow. We have provided scholarships (opens in new window) to a number of D.C. area students over the years, and are looking to increase the number this year.
The Chicago Chapter consists of over 1,000 UNM alums scattered throughout the metro area. Our annual chapter activities include the fall Green Chile Fiesta, Lobo Day and Game Watch Parties, with a Cubs or Sox baseball game and pre-game get-together thrown in.

The Denver Chapter is one of the first chapters formed to provide opportunities for alumni in their area to get together socially and to give back to UNM by way of student recruitment and college fair involvement. We have hosted events such as an annual picnic and auction, a green chile roast, pre-game events at area Lobo football and basketball games, 2nd Saturday Lobo Breakfasts, TV viewing parties for both football and basketball, and much more. Come join in the fun! We are in a period of re-growth and welcome new volunteers and ideas! We have completed the process of creating a Denver Chapter Endowed Scholarship at UNM. We hope our future activities will help add to the endowment which funds the Denver Chapter Scholarships (opens in new window)
for area students.
Colorado Springs/Southern Colorado area alums will continue to be part of the Denver Chapter, but will host some events closer to home, such as game watch parties, tailgates or group outings, when UNM plays AFA in certain sports, etc.

We enjoy fun and friendly social activities throughout the year, and participate in local college fairs and student recruiting events. We have no dues, but have raised, through our annual Green Chile Roast, over $5,000, which was matched by the Alumni Association to start an endowment which funds the Los Angeles Chapter Scholarship (opens in new window) for area students.
The Northern California Chapter (Norcal) continues with our strong tradition of providing activities for alumni in the Norcal area. Thanks to a match by the Alumni Association we were able to start the UNM Norcal Chapter Endowed Scholarship (opens in new window) benefiting local students attending UNM. We give back to the University by awarding scholarships to local students. We participate in area college fairs and student recruitment programs. Our social activities range from Evenings by the Bay, to an annual Green Chile Roast and Pot Luck in the fall.
