Adriana Roze

The Power to Perform

by Mary Conrad

After graduating from UNM, Adriana Rowe Roze left to pursue an acting career in New York City. Subsequently, she had the opportunity to act professionally in theatres throughout the country. She eventually moved to Los Angeles to pursue film and TV.

She says she still looks upon the UNM production of Marat/Sade while she was a student as a "highlight of my time onstage." Because she was a Regents' Scholar, and not encumbered by debt (the scholarship paid her school expenses in full), she spent her summers doing summer stock in New York.

Adriana says the Regents' Scholarship ". . . gave me the ability to pursue my deepest dreams for my life."

Her band, The Endless, has just released its fourth album, Somniloquy. She is starring in a web series, Space Hospital (funnyordie.com/spacehospital), a retro-futuristic comedy, in its second season. She says she plays "a really uptight nurse who is constantly pregnant.

Adriana credits UNM Honors Program for exposure to the "philosophy, poetry and literature" that inspired her to become a writer, poet and lyricist. She has written a children' book and four albums of music.
