Lobo Living Room: The United States Supreme Court: Behind the Velvet Curtain

The UNM Alumni Association in partnership with the UNM School of Law proudly invites Lobo alumni and community members to the Lobo Living Room: The United States Supreme Court: Behind the Velvet Curtain from 5:15 to 8 p.m. (MST) on Wednesday, Nov. 15, at the School of Law located at 1117 Stanford Drive NE in Albuquerque on UNM’s Main Campus. A reception will be held in the lobby with hors d’oeuvres and drinks being served from 5:15 to 6 p.m.; the presentation starts promptly at 6 p.m.

Andrew Schultz (84') will present this distinguished lecture. He is a director and the former president and managing director of Rodey, Dickason, Sloan, Akin & Robb, P.A. Schultz currently serves as Chair of the firm’s Complex and Commercial Litigation practice group. From 1985-86, Schultz served as a law clerk to Byron R. White, Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States. He is the only graduate of the University of New Mexico School of Law to serve as a law clerk on the United States Supreme Court. From 1984-85, Schultz clerked for the Honorable Alvin B. Rubin, United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. He has served as an adjunct professor and frequent lecturer at the UNM School of Law for more than 30 years.

Schultz will help us understand and uncover the intricate mechanisms and judicial considerations that influence the course of American law and governance.
