Young Alumni Chapter

Congratulations, new grads! You've just recently graduated from UNM – so now what!?

Job hunting? Grad school? Networking? Giving Back? Whatever your plans are and wherever they may take you, your Alumni Association has resources to help guide you in your transition to the "real world." UNM Young Alumni caters to the needs of alums who graduated from UNM within the last 15 years, whether they stay in New Mexico or relocate to another state.

The main focus of UNM Young Alumni is keeping YOU engaged with your university. Many times, graduates lose touch with the alma maters, but we’re here to give you easy ways to stay in touch – including social events, networking and professional development, service projects, and more.

Get – and stay – involved! An easy way to get involved is serving on a committee. Young Alumni has four committees that plan and promote fun social and professional events and provide outreach to the campus and community. To get involved, send an email to yngalums@unm.edu, or check out our Facebook page.

Young Alumni Advisory Board

Another way to get involved is to serve on our board! The Young Alumni Board is made of up to 15 representatives. Each appointee is committed to a two-year term and may renew their term if in good standing. The expectation is that board members attend meetings, serve on a committee, and represent the Alumni Association. Typical obligations include, on average, one meeting per month and assistance with planning and implementing events and board projects.

Interested in serving on the board? We are currently filling open positions on the UNM Young Alumni Advisory Board for the 2019-2021 term. For consideration, please submit your application by March 11. If selected, you will be informed by email no later than March 31.

Please direct questions regarding membership to Young Alumni President, Erica Krause Muñoz ‘10 at ebkrause@gmail.com or Vice President, Jenna Hagengruber ‘16 at jhagengr@unm.edu.
