Young Alumni Chapter

Congratulations, new grads! You've just recently graduated from UNM – so now what!?

Job hunting? Grad school? Networking? Giving Back? Whatever your plans are and wherever they may take you, your Alumni Association has resources to help guide you in your transition to the "real world." UNM Young Alumni caters to the needs of alums who graduated from UNM within the last 15 years, whether they stay in New Mexico or relocate to another state.

The main focus of UNM Young Alumni is keeping YOU engaged with your university. Many times, graduates lose touch with the alma maters, but we’re here to give you easy ways to stay in touch – including social events, networking and professional development, service projects, and more.

Get – and stay – involved! An easy way to get involved is serving on a committee. Young Alumni has four committees that plan and promote fun social and professional events and provide outreach to the campus and community. To get involved, send an email to yngalums@unm.edu, or check out our Facebook page.

Young Alumni Advisory Board

The UNM Alumni Association's Young Alumni are seeking applicants for its Advisory Board. The UNM Young Alumni Board is composed of up to 20 members. Eligible individuals must have received a degree from UNM at any level (undergrad, graduate, law, med, PhD) and be under 40 years old through the end of their two-year term. Board members are responsible for overseeing numerous events and activities throughout the year and work closely with the Alumni Relations Office and Alumni Association on projects. Appointments are for an initial term of two years, with an option to renew at the end of the two-year term. Nominees should expect to attend approximately one meeting or event per month, including regular board meetings, committee meetings and committee-planned events.

The Board's mission is to engage with recent alums and upcoming graduates, and facilitate unique opportunities to build lasting relationships with UNM, our community and the Alumni Association through social activities, professional development and philanthropy.

Questions regarding board positions can be directed to Jenna Hagengruber, board president, or Aaron T. Currence, president-elect.
