Undergraduate Scholarships

Academic year 2017/2018 scholarships are listed below. To be considered for an undergraduate scholarship award given by the Alumni Association, students must be enrolled full-time (12 cr. hrs.) during the Fall 2017 AND Spring 2018.

Academic Achievement / Need Based Scholarships

In addition to being enrolled as a full-time undergraduate at UNM; applicant must demonstrate academic achievement and financial need in addition to any other criteria listed.

  • Wood Clements Endowed Scholarship
  • Arthur Friedman Scholarship
  • Frank V. Kremer, Jr. Scholarship
  • John "Puffy" Leonard Memorial Scholarship
  • Gwinn "Bub" Henry Endowed Scholarship
    Additional criteria: Preference given to a student enrolled in the College of Education, majoring in Physical Education
  • William & Ann Jourdan Memorial Scholarship
    Additional Criteria: Native of the State of New Mexico; Preference give to a student enrolled in the School of Engineering

Leadership / Community Service / Campus Involvement Scholarships

In addition to the specific criteria listed for these scholarships, applicant must also be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate at UNM and demonstrate outstanding service, leadership, and involvement on campus or in the community. (NOTE: The La Luz Chapter Scholarship allows for a minimum of 6 credit hour enrollment.)

  • Alumni Association Memorial Scholarship
    Additional Criteria: GPA 3.2+
  • Class of '42 Memorial Scholarship:
    Additional Criteria: Must be a Junior or Senior at UNM with a GPA 3.2+; Must demonstrate financial need
  • Lena Clauve Memorial Scholarship:
    Additional Criteria: Must be a Junior or Senior at UNM with a GPA 3.2+
  • Arthur Harvey Scholarship: $600/year
    Additional Criteria: Must be a Sophomore at UNM with a GPA 3.2+; Must demonstrate financial need
  • La Luz Chapter, American Business Women's Assoc. (ABWA) Scholarship for Women:
    Additional Criteria: Must be Junior or Senior at UNM with a GPA 3.0+; Female; Must be preparing to advance current career, change careers, or re-enter the work force; Must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree program, taking a minimum of 6 credit hours for the fall and spring semesters.

    NOTE: The La Luz Chapter Scholarship allows for a minimum of 6 credit hour enrollment.

Specialized Scholarships

In addition to being enrolled as a full-time undergraduate at UNM, applicant must meet the criteria specified below:

  • Lawrence T. & Wadette Goze Abraham Memorial Scholarship:
    Additional Criteria: Must be Sophomore or Junior at UNM in the College of Education with a GPA 3.0+; State of New Mexico resident; Must demonstrate financial need
  • Harry F. Lee Memorial Scholarship:
    Additional Criteria: GPA 3.0+; Resident of the State of New Mexico from a rural background; Interested in pursuing a career in agriculture/ranching; Must demonstrate financial need
  • Jean Mullins Macey Scholarship:
    Additional Criteria: Must be Junior or Senior female at UNM with a GPA 3.0+; Must demonstrate leadership and service
