UNM Office of Career Services for Alumni

The UNM Office of Career Services provides career advisement, fairs, resource labs, cooperative education, job/internship listings, on-campus recruiting, and workshops.

Career Development facilitators (CDF) are available by appointment or a walk-in basis to assist you with assessing abilities, interests and values, clarifying career goals, writing a resume or cover letter, preparing for interviews, conducting a job search, and/or preparing to attend graduate school. Graduate Career Path

  • The Office of Career Services is here to assist you in your job search. The best way to get started is to schedule an appointment with a CDF by calling 505-277-2531 or stopping by our office.
  • Get registered with Handshake using your personal email in order to learn about upcoming events, search for relevant internship and Co-op opportunities, look at job postings and find out about employers that are coming to campus.
  • Come in and see us. We will help you create a strong resume or CV. We have daily walk-ins or you can schedule an appointment with your CDF.
  • Prepare for job interviews by scheduling a mock interview with us.
  • Build your professional network by creating a LinkedIn profile and set-up informational interviews with people in your targeted careers, industries, and organizations.
  • Once you've done your research and honed your job search skills and materials, it's time to start applying for jobs. Opportunities are posted throughout the year on Handshake. Networking is the top source of jobs. Attend career events, such as our career fairs and On-Campus Recruiting events and schedule an appointment with a CDF to perfect your networking skills and identify unique opportunities.
