Why do I need my Alumni ID to create an account?

We ask that our alums provide their Alumni ID number, and not other personal identifying information, for security purposes because your data is important to us! Read our Data Policy.

Where can I find my Alumni ID?

You can find your Alumni ID number on the back cover of your Mirage Magazine, in The Howler, or on Mini Diplomas created after June 2017. If you cannot find your Alumni ID number, please complete ourAlumni ID Request Form and our office will contact you within 72 hours of your request.

How do I join UNM Alumni Connect?

As a graduate of UNM, you automatically receive access to the online alumni directory. You will need to follow the first-time registration process in order to access UNM Alumni Connect.

  1. Use your first and last name to look up your account.
  2. Select your account. If you cannot find your name on the list, try searching again using alternate names, such as your legal name or a previous/maiden name, or email us at alumni@unm.edu or call 505-277-5808 for assistance.
  3. Verify your identity by entering your Alumni ID Number.
  4. Create your username and password. Read and agree to the policy of use and your registration is complete! Once you've created your username and password, you'll be able to submit Class Notes, edit your profile information and search the Alumni Directory.

How do I change my password to the community?

Follow the password reset link to change your password. To change your password, you will have to enter the e-mail address you used when registering your account and an email will be sent to you with a link to reset your password. If you receive a message indicating your e-mail address can't be found, this means the system has a different e-mail address associated with your account. It's possible you used  a different e-mail address when registering and your account information is not up-to-date. If you have forgotten the email address associated with your account, contact us for assistance.

How do I change the email address that UNM Alumni Association has on file?

Log in to your account via the link at the top of this page, then visit your personal profile page. You can update your email address — or any contact information — by selecting "edit" within the corresponding section of your profile. You can also send any new contact information through our online form and we will update our database for you.

How do I change my contact information in the alumni directory?

Log in to your account via the link at the top of this page, then visit your personal profile page. How do I prevent contact information from displaying in the alumni directory?

Select "edit" on a section of your personal profile page. Use the Show/Hide toggle switch to display, or hide, information from appearing to other alumni.

How do I specify what type of emails I receive from UNM?

We'd like to keep you informed of the latest news and events. You must login to the UNM Alumni Connect Online Community to update your email preferences to indicate the messages that you want to receive from The University of New Mexico. You can change your preferences in the Email Subscription Management section of your Personal Profile.

How do I find contact information for a classmate or friend?

You can search for them in the Online Directory. Login is required. You can search for alumni by name and class year. You can also use the Advanced Search to access a broader range of search categories, including city, state, country and degree.

How do I report a birth, death or marriage to UNM?

Email alumni@unm.edu with any information on members of the UNM community.

Permanent Email

How do I access my G Suite for Education Permanent email account

  1. After you sign-up for your @unmalumni.com email account, watch for a "Welcome" email notifying you of your new webmail account. This email will include your @unmalumni.com username and temporary password.
  2. Login at https://mail.google.com.
  3. Your login will be your complete email address "you"@unmalumni.com and your password.
  4. Use the temporary password that was sent to you in your notification email. Your welcome email will be sent to your preferred email address that we have on file. If your preferred email address is an @unmalumni.com email address, the welcome email will also be sent to your forwarding address that we have on file.

Can I forward my @unmalumni.com email address to another email address?

Yes! If you would like to use @unmalumni.com only for email forwarding, after logging in at https://mail.google.com, click the cog wheel button in the top right-hand corner and then "Settings". After the settings page appears, select the "Forwarding and POP/IMAP" tab and follow the instructions.
